New Project – The Life of Pants

For a few months I’ve been working on a new exciting project called The Life of Pants!  It is an exciting combination of microbiology, microbiome analysis,  and textiles.

In addition to recruiting volunteers (Raleigh NC, Non-Raleigh), I’ve been cutting fabric and attaching it to bandages for citizen scientist (that could be you!) to wear. If you do participate, you’ll get pictures and information about the bacteria on your skin. Visit the project page on the Dunn lab website and sign up to participate!

The combination of science and crafting for this project is quite wonderful. I would be remiss not to give a special thanks to my mom who taught me the proper way to cut and handle fabric as a kid.
